Isolation

“Isolation” (2023) embodies the story of footballs trapped on Jerusalem’s separation wall—balls that, in some ways, resemble the children who threw them there.
Blurring the boundaries between reality and fiction, the project unfolds the story of a childhood stolen behind the wall and of children forced to adapt to realities far beyond their years.
The work consists of photographs and clay footballs. Together, they form a record of a childhood suspended behind barbed-wire fences, inviting us to reflect on the depth of this isolation, its impact on the lives of these children, and our own role in the face of that suspended childhood.
Time becomes a central element in the work as it traces the balls caught in the fences through their different states: worn, intact, torn, or vanished altogether, leaving only a trace behind.
These balls are not merely objects. They embody the dreams, suffering, and complex stories of children who, time and again, attempted to cross the barrier and reclaim their right to a normal childhood and a better future.
