Holding and Letting Go
Graphic designer and illustrator Niv Joshua Dreyfus Abudaram and Noam Alon Bitton, co-founder of Beitar Nordia Jerusalem FC, met through the “Matchmaker” project to discuss questions of identity, belonging, and community. Their conversations revolved around fan culture, memories from the stands, and the values that shape Beitar Nordia.
The resulting work is a series of flags inspired by football banners, each representing a different value. Integrating mythical Jewish motifs with the club’s visual language—both existing and imagined—the work treats the flag as a vessel for identity, ritual, power, and emotion. Through this coded system of symbols, Beitar Nordia is presented not merely as a football club, but as a community defined by the values it seeks to embody.
