HaPo'alot – The Women of Hapoel Jerusalem

Fashion designer Omer Dushy and Michal Turgeman, a Hapoel Jerusalem supporter and spokesperson for Herzog Medical Center, met through the “Matchmaker” project to explore the experience of football fandom from the perspective of a female supporter in the stands. Through conversations about memories of matches, community, and belonging, the two examined the role fandom plays in everyday life and the relationship between emotion, clothing, and identification with a team.

The result is a pair of outfits and accessories designed for the female fan in the stands, drawing on supporter apparel and contemporary streetwear. The work offers a fashion-based interpretation that deconstructs the traditional silhouette of sportswear in favor of new visual forms, combining a red-and-black color palette with elements borrowed from workwear.
