Fashion and textile designer Adi Yair met Beitar Jerusalem fans Bezalel Sadeh and Ofek Knafo through the “Matchmaker” project to explore the club’s fan culture and the connections between memory, belonging, and community. Their conversations touched on stories of intergenerational fandom and on the perception of Beitar Jerusalem as a broad community that connects people, places, and identities. The work’s title, Delale (Kurdish for “beautiful” or “my dear”), reflects the fans’ affection for the club.

Their collaboration gave rise to a sports tracksuit designed according to principles of sustainability while drawing on the clothing traditions of the Kurdish community—the shared heritage of Bezalel and Ofek, uncle and nephew. Made from deconstructed and reassembled team uniforms, the tracksuit intertwines the club’s material memory with patterns and techniques drawn from Kurdish textile traditions.
