The Israel Prize, A Proposal

The project features a disassembly and reformation of the visual element branded into the Israeli consciousness above any other—the Star of David. This hexagram, planted onto our flag and used by all walks of Israeli society for widely varying purposes, is presented here in an irregular fashion. At first glance, the object seems innocuous, minimalistic and abstract, but upon further inspection the complete symbol is revealed.
We ask to take a presumed, familiar element and place it in a new, thought-provoking perspective. Perhaps the many different angles from which the object can be viewed may help reflect the numerous types of significance it bears.
