Medal Slice

“Medal Slice” presents a medal ceremony that highlights collective achievement, assembled through the inclusion of each and every team member. At the center of the project stands a medal designed as a single, rod-shaped object representing team unity and cohesion. The object, produced through metal 3D printing, reveals an internal structure that operates as a structural and metaphorical support network. During the ceremony, the medal rod is sliced according to the number of players, exposing its internal structure and allowing a ribbon to be threaded through it as it takes on its final medal form. In this ceremony, the individual medal is rendered insignificant without the broader context, which is greater than the sum of its parts.
