Golden Portraits From the ‘GOAL' Series

“GOAL” deals with camaraderie, masculinity and coexistence, as observed in the Lod mixed football team. The team, consisting of both Arab-Israeli and Jewish-Israeli players, reflects the profound and intricate complexity of contemporary Israeli society. With national tension and polarization being amplified profusely over recent years, the team has developed a unique and unmatched sense of unity and solidarity. Using staged photography and installation work, this project suggests an alternate take on identity, prejudice, and community.
