No Borders

On October 7, 2023, the physical boundary between my home and the Gaza Strip was breached. It was a border I had perceived as protective and secure. A boundary defines a place, separates it from others, and establishes rules—much like the markings of a football field, which make the game possible. But what happens when that boundary is broken?
The work comprises three textile pieces that examine the notion of the boundary through the lines of a football field: a woven piece representing the unraveled boundary; a knitted piece representing the dense boundary; and a printed piece representing the boundary etched into collective memory.
