An Orthodox religious individual observing the Sabbath addresses a secular neighbor, asking: “What’s the score?”—referring to a football match, commonly held on Saturday afternoon. This simple question exposes an almost ritualistic form of daily coexistence and mediation between otherwise separate worlds. This work examines unofficial codependent relations existing between segregated cultural systems, presenting a display board designed for the synagogue that features score updates from Saturday matches. Its visual code leans into imagery from the realms of sports and Jewish religious observance, accentuating overlaps between ceremony and ritual, authority, identity and group collectives. The impressions are not given as a direct comparison, but rather as a formative and ideological echo that evokes a new interpretation of the hidden social codes within the two realms.
