National Team
“National Team” brings together the voices of fans from the stands into a monumental installation that examines the fanclub scarf as a wearable placard—an object of identity, identification, and belonging. Through manipulations of the written word that capture the rhythm of the pitch, it reveals the leakage between court and country: the aggression emanating from the stands permeates public discourse, while political issues and disputes find their way into the stadium.
Familiar slogans, knitted into the scarves, echo fragments of Israeli public discourse and acquire new meaning drawn from everyday reality. Despite polarization and conflicting positions, the scarves remain woven from the same threads and all belong to the same team.
