100 Grams of Sunflower Seeds

Visitors observing this work are assaulted with 100 grams of sunflower seeds, spat out by a machine gun of unprocessed tin. The machine operates using a visual mechanism and tracking technology, which it uses to home in on viewers at random, aiming its barrel at them. Spitting seed casings is an expression of provocational Israeli street culture existing on the fringe, that refuses to adopt social conventions regarding what is deemed “cultural”, and leaves its mark on the space, overtaking it and designating it as conquered territory.
