ULTRA
Sounds place viewers on the pitch—a polarized expanse of conflict between two distinct factions. This installation is structured by hybridization: a stadium PA tower, tasked with taking score, keeping time, and broadcasting authoritative information, coalesces with a church bell tower, whose role is the division and distinction of time in accordance with liturgical ritual. The ram’s horn shape serves to further echo the aspect of civil security. Stadium chants morph into choral compositions, replacing the commanding voice of announcement with a collective ceremony. Here, the sculptural body functions as a faceless voice, while the gravitational center shifts from the announcement of results to the listening experience.
